Register a new identity

/identity-registrations

Creates a new user identity along with an email/password authentication credential. This is the entry point for self-service sign-up.

The request is rejected if the caller's IP address, the email address itself, or the email's domain appear on the platform blocklist, and again if an email/password credential already exists for the given email.

On success the identity and its credential are created atomically (both succeed or both roll back), and a verification email is dispatched asynchronously in the background — delivery of that email does not block or affect the success of this response. The new identity is not yet verified; pending_verification is always true in the response.

This endpoint is unauthenticated — anyone can call it to create an account.
